Method of Study
Our innovative MPA has a core of 6 subjects, each one analysed during 2 intensive, consecutive weekend workshops. In other words you will attend a double weekend, one after the other, for each subject. The weekends will take place about every 12 weeks, normally over 18 months and then followed by a six month supervised project or dissertation - this is normally focused on a student's own employment.This is the how the schedule for the first 18 months will look:

Orientation: The programme is preceded by a two day induction, to introduce you to the new leading edge concepts and to help refresh your learning skills.
- GPS - Governance and the Public Sector (20 credits)
- PSPS - Public Services Policy and Strategy (20 credits)
- CPP - Comparative Public Policy (20 credits)
- RPS - Researching Public Services (20 credits)
- MPS - Managing Public Services (20 credits)
- IPTPS - Improving performance through people and resources (20 credits)
The final 6 months is spent working on a challenging project under the supervision and advice of a top University lecturer.
- Public Administration Project (60 credits, Core)
A 12 to 15,000 word project on a comparative or international theme which is mutually agreed completes the programme.
